Joseph "Joey" Tribbiani is a fictional character, primarily known for his role in the television sitcom Friends. He first appeared in the pilot episode of Friends, which aired on September 22, 1994.
Portrayed by Matt LeBlanc, Joey is an Italian-American struggling actor living in New York City. He is best known for his womanizing tendencies, love of food, and his often simple-minded but good-hearted nature.
After Friends concluded in 2004, LeBlanc reprised his role as Joey in the spin-off series Joey, which followed his character's move to Los Angeles to further pursue his acting career. The show, also starring Buddies, ran for two seasons.
